a trip to the Oregon Coast

This past weekend we were able to meet Dad and Roz at Lincoln City, Oregon for a family trip with Roz's son Lane his wife Mindy, and their two kids Bodie and Piper. Though it was a bit windy, it was so nice to be at the ocean and see the family. Mack had only been to the ocean once before when he was much younger, so it was a lot of fun for me to see his reactions to the new surroundings. Mack and I walked down to the tide pools at low tide, and explored. We both had a lot of fun playing with Piper (almost 7 months old), but anytime Mack played with her, he insisted he hates babies, quite comical.

Chapter One: The Move

Throughout the summer, we have been gradually moving stuff over to our new apartment in Portland, Oregon. But as of August 25th, we are here for good. Our place is actually the basement of a house, but has so many windows, it doesn't feel like a basement at all. There are two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen and a huge laundry/utility room. We are very happy to be here and excited to start a routine. Mack's school starts the 29th of August, but I have a month until my school starts. During that time I plan to get the whole place organized, and read as much as possible. Here are a few pictures of our home, and a few things we did this summer.
